Southern Region Team Championships, 9th October 2016, Hazelemere

Yesterday, Sunday the 9th. October, two of our teams went to Hazelmere to defend honours achieved in 2014, the first year of the Southern Region Team Championships.

That first year we stunned all in taking first place over the other ten clubs in this strong region.

In 2015 we were the target, and our first team was beaten into 2nd. place, but our second team in the second division, kept us in the silver by winning the cup.

This year, we expected and met all guns blazing, but were pleasantly shocked to find that we still had the ammunition to win, and have more engraving to do with a another notch on the first division cup. 2016 Orbit M.K. A great win.

Our second team were 7th. so stay up in the first division as well.

These then were the two great teams that kept Milton Keynes in high profile for a 3rd. year running:

Team 1 - Millie Heathcote, who battled on with painful injury, Faridah Lawal just 6yrs old, Laura Kelly who hardly put a foot wrong, Charlie Roberts who keeps the flag flying for the men, Milly Cole who had a fine Compulsory, Sophie Chambers with balletic style, Imogen Wells whose star keeps rising, and Emily Young with style and the highest tariff.

Team 2 - Lucy Ravilious showed class and simplicity, Frazer Macpherson scored 8s in both routines, as well as adding cred. for the few men, Lily Mundy was steady and consistent, Charlotte Blackmore used her most advanced Voluntary, Rachel Marsh did her team proud with two good routines, Sammy Godleman raised the tariff again with her voluntary, Libby-Leigh Corby exceeded her young stature and jumped her own height, and Rebecca Dormer kept her side alive with two more complete routines.

We hope to stay in the Silver again in October 2017, and with performers like these, we have the ability.
