Invitational, 19th July 2015, Oxford

Orbit whet their teeth in the Oxford Invitational, and now they know Milton Keynes.

To encourage young and new performers there were no difficulty marks awarded at this competition, everything was decided on form and style. We arrived at the Blackbird Leys new Leisure centre in force, forty one Orbits descending on the opposition.

Our young Beginners got us off to a flying start in the 7 years and under, Libby Leigh Corby took 1st. place, and also the highest score award for beginners overall.

Beth Grimes was 5th. Faridah Lawal 7th. and Michael Weeks 13th. No mishaps or upsets, well done.

In the Beginners 11 yrs. and under Tayla Weeks was 2nd. Charlotte Maplethorpe 3rd. Tasha Weeks 5th. and Yasir Lawal 6th. The group took 1st. Team place as well.

Moving up to Club I we had three age groups:

In the 7yrs. and under Borte Jones was 2nd. Summer Goldsmith 3rd. Niamh Cole 6th. Kelsey Woodall 7th. and Samira Westerby 13th.

In the 9yrs. and under Kaylen Lyon took a lone 3rd. place.

At 13 yrs. and under Hollie Davis was 3rd. and Joss Lawrence 7th.

Up to club H in the 9 yrs. and under Louise Funke took 4th. place despite losing two marks for a technical error.

At 11 yrs. and under Bethany Holdsworth was 5th. and Katie Balmer 8th.

At G grade 9 yrs. and under, Laura Kelly was 2nd. Isobel Burrows 3rd. and Sophie Lewis 6th. giving them 1st. team place.

In the 11 yrs. and under Sophie Chambers took 2nd. Place, Leonie Ravilious 3rd. Lauren Sinclair 6th. and Laila Carey10th. This rewarded them with 1st. team place.

In the U 11 boys Fraser Macpherson took 4th. place.

At 13 and under Brooke Carey was 12th. and Ellie Lanigan 10th.

At over 14s Ella Preedy held 1st. place, Lucy Chambers 5th. Josie Crisp 7th. and helping to secure 1st. team place, Bethany Davis came in 12th.

At Grade F 13 and under Rachel Marsh came 2nd. And Paige Johnson 3rd. Oh to make up a team!

In the Over 14s Ellie Jade Billingham came home 3rd.

In E grade, the highest of the day, at 13 yrs. and under, Charlie Roberts showed the girls a clean pair of heels taking 1st. place, with Milly Cole close behind in 3rd. place and Ben Gilroy in 6th. place. Charlie also took the highest scoring award of the day for grade E.

At over 14, Georgia Makel excelled herself taking 2nd. Place.
