Results of a National trampoline Competition. Orbit Milton Keynes 6 & 7th. Feb.2010

Last week-end we took seven competitors to Gloucester to compete in the first round of this season’s National competitions, which will culminate in the National finals in July.

First to enter the fray was Hollie Leung in the girls U15 grade C. This was a big occasion, and after a confident start the nerves began to creep in. Unfortunately Hollie failed  to complete her compulsory routine and fell into last position. The worst having happened, Hollie relaxed and completed her more difficult voluntary routine and raised her position slightly. She knows what to expect and will be ready next time.

Also in this age group, Dayle Walker had a quite different competition scoring well in both her routines. In the first round of the season Dayle scored herself a place in the National Finals in July. A job well done.

In the boys U15 group Lewis Wheeler was also plagued by early season nerves, but managed to complete both routines. He will need further attempts to secure a spot at the Nats. Finals.

Jumping with him, Hogan Leung pulled off two fairly clean routines but did not achieve a score good enough for the Nationals.

Moving up to the U19 girls, at only 15 yrs. of age Roisin O’Brien performed two very good routines coming 14th out of 34 and gaining a place in the coming National finals. Well done.

Also only at 15 and in the same group, Rebekah Bridge jumped very well to score only 0.3 less than Roisin, but that put her down in 19th. place without qualifying. She too will be trying again.

In the over 19 girls Fig B grade (the second highest grade available) Laura Wright jumped with good style and difficulty, only missing out on a place in July by the smallest margin. Well done, next time can be the one.

There was also a synchronized competition on the Sunday, and Hollie and Dayle teamed up, both jumping to their potential, securing 5th. place and scoring points towards attendance at the National finals.

Laura and Rebekah also tried their team work but were outside of the top ten. Better jumping next time.
